In 2023 the trustees of the Robert W Moody Sr Scholarship Trust unanimously voted to liquidate. This came after an analysis of the costs of electronically filing the annual 990-PF which leaves very little to distribute as scholarships. While this cost is currently generously covered by an individual that resource does not continue. Even before this cost the limited amount earned annually by the Trust had become immaterial when considering the costs of higher education. This with the exception of funds necessary to cover the final scholarship awarded in 2023 and $1 to cover the excise tax on investment income as reflected on this return the remaining funds of $6,282 were paid to Biddeford Center of Technology an adult education program at 10 Maplewood Avenue Biddeford Maine that is associated with local schools in accordance with the trust document.
