Restrictions THE VIRGINIA WELLINGTON CABOT FOUNDATION IS A PRIVATE FAMILY FOUNDATION CREATED IN 1992 BY TOM AND VIRGINIA CABOT. IT WAS THEIR WISH THAT THIS FOUNDATION WOULD BE THE INSTRUMENT THROUGH WHICH THEIR DESCENDANTS COULD ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN CARRYING ON THEIR TRADITION OF TRYING TO HELP MAKE THIS A BETTER WORLD. THE FOUNDATION HAS ESTABLISHED A GIVING POLICY GUIDED AS MUCH BY THE DEGREE OF PERSONAL VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT AS BY SUBJECT MATTER. BENEFICIARIES OF THE FOUNDATION TYPICALLY CONSIST OF ORGANIZATIONS KNOWN TO AND SPONSORED BY THE DESCENDANTS OF TOM AND VIRGINIA CABOT. THE FOUNDATION DOES NOT ACCEPT UNSOLICITED PROPOSALS. ALL GRANT REQUESTS MUST BE SPONSORED BY A FAMILY MEMBER AND ARE THEREFORE BY INVITATION ONLY.
