How to Apply THE EDWIN GOULD FOUNDATION CONVENES A LIMITED NUMBER OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS AND INVESTS ON A LONG-TERM BASIS. THROUGH THIS INCUBATION MODEL, THE FOUNDATION ADDRESSES THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP, LIFE-SKILLS CHASM AND COLLEGE-BOUND INFORMATION DIVIDE THAT PREVENT UNDERSERVED YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ENTERING AND GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE. THE FOUNDATION HAS HAD A STRONG HISTORICAL COMMITMENT TO THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN FOSTER CARE. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO ADDRESS ISSUES OF EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER ATTAINMENT INCLUDING SECONDARY AND POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND NON-COGNITIVE SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN RESIDENTIAL CARE SETTINGS.
Restrictions TO BE CONSIDERED FOR SUPPORT APPLICANTS MUST: - ADDRESS AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOUNDATION'S TARGET AREAS: ACADEMIC RIGOR, LIFE/LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND COLLEGE-BOUND INFORMATION - BE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADER AND THE PRIMARY DECISION-MAKER WORKING ON THE INITIATIVE FULL-TIME - DEMONSTRATE COMMITMENT OF NO LESS THAN THREE YEARS TO THE INITIATIVE - VALUE COOPERATION, BE WILLING TO SHARE RESOURCES AND LEVERAGE ASSETS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHER ASSOCIATES AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR EXPANSION. TO APPLY APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT A TWO-PAGE LETTER OF INTENT. IF INVITED TO CONTINUE, THEY WILL BE ASKED TO SUBMIT A FULL PROPOSAL.
