AS THE PAID PREPARER, WE ARE A SMALL FIRM STILL RECOVERING FROM THE AFTER EFFECTS OF COVID AND STILL HAVE NOT RETURNED TO OUR NYC OFFICE; PRIOR TO COVID WE EMPLOYED A STAFF OF 5 WITH 2 PARTNERS, WORKING REMOTELY, THERE ARE 2 PARTNERS AND 1 STAFF PERSON. WITH LIMITED STAFFING,AN AGING PARTNER (81 YEARS OF AGE), AND WORKING REMOTELY WE INSTITUTED NEW SOFTWARE APPLICATION AND DUE TO A CLERICAL ERROR REGARDING FILING DUE DATES WITHIN THE SOFTWARE, THE FILING OF THE RETURN WAS OVERLOOKED. AS SOON AS THE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED, WE WORKED TO FILE THE RETURN. PLEASE CONSIDER THE CONTINUED IMPACT THAT SMALL CPA FIRMS HAVE ENCOUNTERED FROM COVID AS REASONABLE CAUSE TO REVIEW AND ABATE ANY PENALTIES THAT OCCURRED ON BEHALF OF THIS FOUNDATION.
