How to Apply
Initially, a brief narrative letter describing the project for which funds are asked, its justification, the cost based upon reliable estimates, the amount already realized or anticipated, from what other sources funding is expected, and the amount requested. This letter should not exceed three (3) pages. If the project falls within the areas of the Foundation's interest, purposes, and current funding policies, more detailed information may be requested. Letters must be received no later than September 15th, in order to be considered for the current year.
Restrictions
Before an application can be considered, proof is required that the applicant is an exempt organization, as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code ("IRC"), and that it is considered XNot a Private Foundation" within the meaning of Section 509(a) IRC. Grants are awarded only to agencies located in Dallas County, Texas. Only one grant will be awarded to any agency in a 3 year period. Grants up to 10% of the total project or campaign goal will be considered. A strong preference is given to capital building projects over operating and endowment requests. Grants are not normally considered for publicly tax-supported institutions, individuals, churches, research, endowments, underwriting of fund-raising events, debt retirement or second party requesters.
