THE FOUNDATION HAS AN ANNUAL AUDIT PERFORMED AND THE AUDIT FIRM FILES THE FOUNDATION'S TAX RETURN. UPON TAX RETURN PREPARATION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FOUNDATION DID NOT MEET THE PUBLIC SUPPORT CRITERIA, WHICH CAUSED THE FOUNDATION TO FILE ITS INITIAL 990-PF. A TIMELY EXTENSION WAS FILED FOR THE FOUNDATION'S 990 IN MAY 2023. THE FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA REGION WHO SUFFER FROM ADDICTION, AS WELL AS FUND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS WITH A SIMILAR COMMITMENT. BECAUSE THIS IS THE INITIAL FILING FOR THE FOUNDATION'S 990-PF, WE RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT ANY LATE FILING PENALTIES BE ABATED, AS AN EXTENSION FOR A 990 WAS FILED WITH GOOD FAITH THAT IT WAS UNKNOWN THE FOUNDATION WOULD BE CONSIDERED A PRIVATE OPERATING FOUNDAITON IN 2022.
