How to Apply
All requests for funding from the Franklin Savings Bank Community Development Foundation should be made in writing by letter or the Charitable Request form. The formal application can be found online on the Foundation's website at: https://www.franklinsavings.bank/ About_FSB_Foundation.html. The application can be mailed to the FSB Community Development Foundation at P.O. Box 825, Farmington, ME 04938. Grants are only awarded to qualifying public charities and government organizations. Applicants should include their full name, their tax ID number, and a copy of their IRS non-profit determination letter. Applicants should also provide their address and contact information, the purpose for which they are seeking a grant, a dollar-amount requested, and governance and conflict of interest disclosures.
Restrictions
The Foundation only considers requests that benefit the communities of the Foundation's local business area. The Foundation favors requests that target economic development; that help low income communities; or that assist with job retention and training. The Foundation will not assist individuals raising money for trips, personal crisis, or medical problems; additionally, the Foundation will not assist individuals seeking pledges for charity walks or runs, though it may provide corporate sponsorships to qualifying events. The Foundation provides support for scholarship programs directly with qualifying schools in its operating region, and therefore does not contribute to other personal or individual scholarship fund-raising efforts.
Financial Trends 2022 data appears limited (dashed line) because the IRS transitioned its e-filing system that year and only published 2 months of XML archives.
