How to Apply
A grant proposal must be formulated collaboratively with a Switzer Fellow, followed by direct phone or email contact with the Switzer Foundation to summarize the project. A written concept letter will then be invited for submission. (See attached Leadership Grant Application Procedures and Guidelines)
Restrictions
Awards are made to U.S. based environmental organizations with 501(c)(3) status, government agencies, or educational institutions. Support for fellows doing international work may be considered as long as a U.S.-based host organization is the grantee and all the other criteria are met.Proposals must be developed jointly by the organization and a Switzer Fellow. Only fellows who have concluded their graduate program are eligible to participate in aLeadership Grant program project. The key criteria used to evaluate proposals are: 1) The project is relevant to a current and critical environmental issue; 2) The project advances the professional career of the Switzer Fellow; and 3) The project and the Switzer Fellow will help build the capacity of the organization.
