About

A change was incorrectly made in the IRS' database at somepoint in 2023, that changed the taxpayer's year end from June 30 to December 31. Wre have had correspondence with the IRS since then, attempting to get the database corrected to proiperly reflect a June 30 year end. During that time period we have not been able to electroncially file any extension or returns that have been due. We attemped to electronically file the extenions for the tax period ending June 30, 2023 on September 29, 2023, and it was rejected becuase the year end did not match the E-File database. We then paper filed the extension On November 9, 2023, before the November 15, 2023 due date. The paper filed extension was rejected by the IRS. We then attempted to electronically file the June 30, 2023 990-PF on April 15, 2024, and it was rejected becuase the year end did not match the E-File database. We then paper filed the 990-PF on April 18, 2024. We received correspondence from the IRS date June 6, 2024, stating the return could not be processed becuase it must be electroncailly filed. Per phone convresation with IRS on October 21, 2024, we were notified the database had been changed back to a June 30 year end. We were asked to resubmit the June 30, 2023 tax return electronically. We are asking all late filing penalties to be abated, as we have shown we made a good faith effort to electronically file both the extension and returns, and provide paper filings before year end. Without the IRS database accepting the returns, there was nothing more we could do.
