How to Apply We require applicants to use the Colorado Common Grant Application (CGA), which can be submitted electronically (preferred) through the online portal accessed from our website, www.anschutzfamilyfoundation.org Information on the applications should include the alignment with the mission and interests of the Foundation;the organization's mission, goals, plans and financials; a solid financial sustainability plan; diversified funding stream information; a committed board of directors with 100% making a contribution to the organization; information on volunteer participation; information showing the organization is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization or be fiscally sponsored by another 501 (c)(3) organization or tax-supported institution such as a school or government agency; information about leadership; future goals; efforts made to engage the community and/or participants in program development; community involvement.
Restrictions The Foundation aims for an even distribution of grants between organizations serving in Colorado's rural and urban communities. There is a special interest in self-sufficiency, community development, and programs aimed at the economically disadvantaged, the young, the elderly, and the disabled. Grants are typically in the $5,000 to $10,000 range, but generally no greater than 10% of an organization's annual budget. When an organization receives funding from the Foundation for two years in a row, we request they take the third year off. The Foundation can only accept one grant application per calendar year from an organization.
