Restrictions THE FOUNDATION ISSUES REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS (RFPS) TO ENLIST SUPPORT TO ACCELERATE THE GLOBAL DECLINE IN SMOKING. THE FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES THAT COUNTRIES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WILL NEED DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS, AND THAT ADVANCES IN BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CAN PLAY A KEY ROLE IN HARM REDUCTION RELATIVE TO SMOKING. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS TO SUPPORT WORK THAT IS BEING CONDUCTED BY INDEPENDENT RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS, ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AND CENTERS, AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
