About

On September 30 2025 the below mentioned Set Aside was approved for $16,500,000 dollars, $1,540,000 for 2022 and $14,960,000 for 2024. The Board has significant healthcare experience as medical professionals specializing in cancer treatment. Based on the Boards collective expertise and evaluation of the medical needs of underserved communities, the Board identified an opportunity for a PRI that would further the Foundations charitable purposes by promoting health and health care in India. The Foundation will make program-related investments of up to $16,500,000 in Medverse through which the Foundation will (indirectly) invest in and make below-market rate loans to, Medimount, which will be required to use such proceeds to provide cancer treatment to, and advance cancer research in connection with, economically disadvantaged populations in India. The Foundation seeks advance approval of the Set-aside Amount of $16,500,000, which includes the Initial Set-aside Amount and an additional $14,960,000 to be set-aside . The Set-aside Amount represents an aggregate investment that the Foundation intends to indirectly, through its wholly-owned LLC, Medverse, invest in and/or loan to Medimount, subject to typical hospital funding structures in India, for purposes of constructing, owning, and operating the Hospital. Specifically, the Hospital will provide comprehensive cancer care services, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology. The Hospital will be equipped with the latest diagnostic (PET/CT) and radiation equipment and will also offer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biologic therapy to patients. Medimount also intends to provide community prevention services, research, training, and education to cancer-focused medical and paramedical professionals. Physicians specializing in cancer care serve on the board of directors of Medimount and provide oversight of its activities.
