We filed a timely 2023 return online. In August 2024 we mailed a short year 990PF return for January-June 2024 to change our fiscal calendar year. In October 2024 we received a letter from the IRS saying that our return that we mailed could not be processed and it has to be done online electronically. However we could not e-file 2 returns using the same tax year forms unless it is an amended return. We spoke with an IRS tax-exempt section agent and an IRS tax law section agent as well as our tax software provider. No one could offer a reasonable solution to the problem of the inability to e-file another 2023 Form 990-PF to change the year-end from December 31 to June 30. As a work-around our software provider suggested filing the return as an Amended return which we did and it was accepted. In Dec 2024 we talked to the IRS and was told that the amended return filed in an attempt to change our year-end to June 30 was NOT successful. In April 2025 we received a letter from the IRS notifying us that our 2023 year has not processed but on the letter it shows our fiscal calendar year HAS been changed. We sincerely apologize for this late return but we have tried everything we can to try to file and change the fiscal calendar year on time. Please see the attachment for further explanation. Thank you so much.

2022 data appears limited (dashed line) because the IRS transitioned its e-filing system that year and only published 2 months of XML archives.
