About

We respectfully request that the Foundation's quarterly estimated tax payments be treated as timely and request that no underpayment penalties be assessed because the payment delay was due to no intentional disregard of Internal Revenue Service (the "Service") rules but rather an error. The Foundation had submitted a statement of name change to the State of California but did not notify the Service of that name change in advance of the quarterly estimated tax deadlines. As a result, the Foundation's administrator could not enroll the Foundation in EFTPS. Once this error was discovered, the Foundation notified the Service in writing to update its database with the Foundation's new name. The funds were disbursed from the Foundation's account and were held by the administrator until such time that EFTPS enrollment could be completed successfully. As such, Form 2220 was prepared as if the name change had been acknowledged and reports the quarterly estimated tax payments as made timely by the original due dates of such payments. In addition, Form 990-PF Part V, Line 6a includes these payments.
