DFPS protects children, the elderly, and people with disabilities from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Through the Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) division and Community-Based Care (CBC) network, DFPS contracts with community-based nonprofits to deliver family resource centers, home visiting, youth prevention, and foster care services across Texas.

How to Apply PEI grants are awarded via RFA through the HHS Enterprise procurement portal. Community-Based Care (CBC) single-source contracts go to lead nonprofits in each of 12 catchment regions.
