Advocate Media - Dallas Inc. (the Organization') was formed on September 15, 2020 as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Texas. The Organization seeks to educate the public and serve as a source of local nonpartisan news for underserved communities in the City of Dallas, Texas through the production of quality local journalism that is otherwise lacking in Dallas.The Organizations primary activity will consist of publishing and distributing (through both physical and digital channels, including on its website) a monthly magazine focused on local news and issues affecting residents of Dallas and its various neighborhoods, informing and empowering citizens by sharing stories that are educational, interesting and inclusive. There are various programs to serve the community. 1. The Ex-Offender training and certifications This program is winding down in 2023 2. STARS Kids Summer Program to aid at risk youth by keeping the busy during the summer in a positive manner 3. SGVHV Star Group Veterans Helping Veterans Program is a program that consist of concerned citizens and veterans who support Veterans and their families. They are also a voice in the community to support the Vet to raise awareness of the challenges of veterans. Various programs include Service Officers to assist Veterans with their disability claims and needs; Cancer Survivor Program; Back to School program that gives out 150 Backpacks full of school supplies. Thanksgiving Bag Program that gives out 550 baskets with turkey and complete meal and Holiday Help program that assist area small non-profits.
