CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Grayson County is a non-profit organization dedicated to training and equipping our community to protect children, empower families, and advocate for positive outcomes for children involved in the child welfare system.

THE ORGANIZATIONS PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO HELP WOMEN GET FREE FROM DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION. IT IS A SIX-MONTH IN HOUSE PROGRAM THAT FOCUSES ON FILLING THE WOMEN WITH THE WORD OF GOD TO HELP OVERCOME THEIR ADDICTIONS THROUGH DAILY BIBLE STUDIES, LICENSED COUNSELING, TEACHING PROGRAMS, AND PARENTING CLASSES. IT PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION TO EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION OR GET THEIR GED. IT ALSO PROVIDES HOUSING AND AN AFTERCARE PROGRAM TO HELP THE WOMEN LOOK FOR WORK IF THEY HAVE NO OTHER HOME TO GO TO OR NEED EXTRA SUPPORT TO HELP EASE THEM BACK IN TO SOCIETY. IT'S MAIN FOCUS IS TO TEACH THE WORD OF GOD AND HELP BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR THE WOMEN TO BE ABLE TO TURN TO GOD'S WORD FOR HELP INSTEAD OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL.

To provide financial support to human service agencies serving Harrison County, Texas.

West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department is organized to provide fire fighting, rescue and other emergency services for the preservation of life and the protection of property from fire or other emergencies within the area of its operation in Harrison County, Texas. The department provides these services through a membership of volunteer firefighters. The department provides training in fire prevention, firefighting, and emergency situations to its members. The department also maintains public relations with the community and communicates fire prevention awareness within the area it serves.

To provide food and clothing to low income familes.

Provide youth sports program to homeschool students in East Texas.

INSTRUCTION OF GENERAL PUBLIC IN HARRISON COUNTY, TEXAS ON AGRICULTURAL MATTERS BY CONDUCTING ANNUAL PUBLIC FAIRS AND EXHIBITIONS OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY, AND FARM PRODUCTS. DIRECT INCENTIVES SUCH AS COMPETITIVE EVENTS ARE USED TO ENLIST THE INTEREST OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN AGRICULTURE AND TO EDUCATE THEM IN THE NEWEST AND BEST TECHNIQUES OF FARMING AND LIVESTOCK RAISING.

TO PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING, AND LONG-TERM DISCIPLESHIP/RECOVERY PROGRAMS THAT WILL LEAD INDIVIDUALS TO A POSITIVE LIFESTYLE.

FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, THE RELIEF OF SUFFERING OF ANIMALS AND THE EXTENSION OF EDUCATION IN THE HUMANE CARE AND TREATMENT OF ANIMALS.

To Promote Literacy and to Educate the Citizens of Harrison County to whom English is not their native language.
