The Foundation's purposes include, but are not limited to, the support of cultural, historical, research, conservation, environmental, beautification, and general community development activities benefiting the City of Austin, the State of Texas, or the United States. Half-Helen provides vision and hearing screenings, optometry services, and prescription eyewear at no charge to children and adults that are uninsured/underinsured in low-income communities.
