SVDP-Austin's mission work is done by over 1,000 volunteers via home visits and food pantries to provide financial assistance to meet basic needs such as utilities, rent, and other household expenses. We also provide food, transportation passes, grocery gift cards, thrift store vouchers, disaster relief, and predatory loan conversions.

AUSTIN DOG RESCUE IS A FOSTER HOME BASED ORGANIZATION THAT SAVES DOGS FROM SHELTERS THAT WERE PICKED UP AS STRAYS OR ABANDONED BY THEIR FAMILY AND LEFT WITH NO HOPE OF A BETTER LIFE. WE BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS PRECIOUS AND THE DOGS WE SAVE DESERVE NO LESS THAN A SECOND CHANCE AT FINDING A LOVING, CARING HOME. OUR FOSTER CAREGIVERS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS ARE THE CATALYST BEHIND GIVING THEM THAT CHANCE.

THE PURPOSE OF OPERATION BLUE SANTA IS TO PROVIDE GIFTS AND FOOD ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES IN NEED DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON, PARTICULARLY THOSE WITH CHILDREN, ENSURING THEY HAVE A JOYFUL CHRISTMAS. THE PROGRAM AIMS TO SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER AND OFFER EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO FAMILIES FACING ECONOMIC HARDSHIP, EXTENDING BEYOND JUST THE CHRISTMAS SEASON.
