THE CENTER EMPLOYS SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (SLP) WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN TO IMPROVE SKILLS THAT ALLOW THEM TO COMMUNICATE MORE EFFECTIVELY OR WHO HAVE ORAL MOTOR PROBLEMS CAUSING EATING AND SWALLOWING DIFFICULTIES.
THE CENTER PROVIDES APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA) THERAPY FOR CHILDREN WITH AN AUTISM DIAGNOSIS. CHILDREN RECEIVE FULL-DAY 1:1 THERAPY BY BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (BCBA). GOALS ARE IMPLEMENTED TO ADDRESS SOCIAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND FUNCTIONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS. PARENT TRAINING IS REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE TRANSITION TO THE HOME ENVIRONMENT.
INSTRUCTION JUNCTION PRESCHOOL WORKS WITH CHILDREN AGES TWO TO FIVE YEARS TO PREPARE THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL ACADEMICALLY AND SOCIALLY WHEN THEY ENTER KINDERGARTEN. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR CHILDREN UP TO AGE 10. CHILDREN IN THE PRESCHOOL WHO REQUIRE ANY OF THE THERAPIES PROVIDED BY THE CENTER ARE ABLE TO ACCESS THOSE PROGRAMS. VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAMS BENEFITTING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITES.
