COA HAS APPROXIMATELY 900 MEMBERS WHICH INCLUDES NOVICE AND ADVANCED COLLECTORS, STUDENTS, PROFESSIONAL MALACOLOGISTS, MUSEUMS, LIBRARIES, AND OTHERS FROM AROUND THE US AND THE WORLD. COA'S EMPHASIS IS TO INCREASE THE INTEREST IN MOLLUSKS THROUGH EDUCATION; TO APPRECIATE THEIR BEAUTY; THEIR BENEFIT TO ECOSYSTEM AND MANKIND; AND TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION OF THEM AND THEIR HABITATS AND ENVIRONMENT.

The purpose of the Club is to provide service to others within the community, promote integrity, advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through fellowship of business.

Promote, and educate the public, on the legacy of William C. Handy, "Father of the Blues"

Our goal is to create a powerful movement in our community to end the needless killing of homeless pets; while empowering our community to save the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused pets. Our organization will focus on educating the public about the proper care of animals; the importance of spaying and neutering animals; providing educational materials and resources about fostering animals and assisting with placement of animals in homes; we will also educate and assist people who want to take care of animals in shelters.

The Pearland Hurricanes mission statement for the football and cheer season will be to positively impact our 200+ student athletes as they learn positive life lessons through the sports of football and cheer. The Pearland Hurricanes organizations strong values of teamwork integrity leadership work ethic determination winning positive attitude and perseverance will help mold our young student athletes into the strong future leaders our communities and schools need for tomorrows success. We will strive to build strong community leaders and excellence on and off the field. We will do this while providing fundamentally sound technical coaching in the sports of youth football and cheer. Our motto is Once and Cane always a Cane. Family first teamwork and community impact are our pillars.
