Campus and Community Foster Care & Adoption: High Sky recruits and trains caring individuals and couples to provide safe, stable homes for children ages 0 to 17 in the Permian Basin. Foster care and adoption services are designed to meet the individual needs of each child through personalized treatment plans, therapeutic support, educational assistance, and independent living preparation. All children attend public schools, engage in community activities, and receive the support they need to heal and thrive. Children in our on-campus program are typically ages 4 to 15 and often present with higher levels of need, while community-based homes provide a family environment throughout the region.Teen Home General Residential Operation (GRO): High Sky operates a therapeutic teen home for adolescent boys with higher levels of need who might otherwise be sent out of the region. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FOOD FOR SUCCESS THROUGH VARIOUS PROGRAMS INCLUDING A MOBILE FOOD PANTRY, A COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY, A BACKPACK PROGRAM, AND CRISIS ASSISTANCE THROUGH COMMUNITY PARTNERS. FOOD IS PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 50 FAMILIES EACH MONTH THROUGH THE COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY AND APPROXIMATELY 1,370 STUDENTS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR THROUGH THE BACKPACK PROGRAM. THE MOBILE FOOD PANTRY PROVIDED FOOD TO ABOUT 580 FAMILIES ON A MONTHLY BASIS IN EIGHT SURROUNDING COUNTIES. MINI FOOD BAGS ARE PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 1,370 TEEN STUDENTS AT MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUSES EACH MONTH THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS. THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE FOOD TO IDENTIFIED UNDERPRIVELEGED FAMILIES. FOOD IS ALSO PROVIDED TO FAMILIES IN CRISIS SITUATIONS AS IDENTIFIED BY COMMUNITY PARTNERS. We offer a holistic, social model of service meant to help those we serve re-engage in life. Our model of service is the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia, recognized by the leading clinicians and researchers in the field of aphasia as best practice. Imagine knowing just what you want to say but being unable to get the words out. This is just some of the frustration people with aphasia feel. The Aphasia Center of WEST Texas was the second independent aphasia in the country to open our doors and we remain one of only two centers in the entire state of Texas. Our services are private pay only. We do not accept insurance or government funding. We are completely privately funded through foundation support and fundraising events. Our goal is for the person with aphasia to be in control rather than have an outside entity dictate the perimeters of care. Those
